Joe Dirt, hvis jagt på sin familie har sent ham ud på landevejene, på jagt efter det, der virkelig betyder noget, sammen med hver eneste bums han møder, bl. a. en lækker sag, en vicevært, og et kort møde med en psykopatisk kannibal. Undervejs holder Joe konstant rytmen kørende, hele vejen til L.A., hvor en råprovokerende radiovært gør Joe til offeret i sit show. Men Joes ukuelige vilje opmuntrer lytterne til at heppe på ham, og hjælpe ham med at finde en bedre familie, end den han troede, at han ville ha'. Rock on!

Joe Dirt (David Spade) is an eternally optimistic, mullet-wearing janitor who lost his parents during a trip to the Grand Canyon when he was just a little boy, and has subsequently dedicated his life to finding them. When his search brings him to Los Angeles, a big city shock-jock invites Joe onto his radio show to laugh at his backwater ways, but as Joe's story unfolds the good people of LA can't help but fall for the little guy's plucky charm. Soon everyone is cheering Joe on as he struggles against the odds to find the family he's always wanted. |
