Young orphan Fanny Hill (Lisa Raines) arrives in London to start a new life. But soon the innocent girl is forced into a life of prostitution after she is robbed and left with no money, no friends and no place to stay. In the brothel, Fanny falls for a handsome customer, Charles, and looks forward to a life of marital bliss, but her happiness is whisked away when Charles' father disapproves of the relationship.
Forced to fend for herself again, Fanny finds herself in one awkward position after another until she befriends Mrs. Cole (Shelley Winters - Lolita), a woman who owns a hat shop with a difference. At Mrs Cole's special shop, Fanny welcomes her new situation with open arms and soon finds that she's a very, very rich woman.
Based on the classic erotic novel by John Cleland, Fanny Hill also stars Oliver Reed (Oliver! Women In Love) and Wilfred Hyde-White (My Fair Lady) as an old gentleman with a fancy for young ladies, and is directed by Gerry O'Hara (The Bitch). |
