Flash returns in this Silver Anniversary Edition of Mike Hodges Sci-Fi classic.
In this update of the 1930's comic strip, Flash Gordon (Sam J. Jones) is a football hero who is skyjacked aboard Dr. Zarkov's rocketship along with beautiful Dale Arden (Melody Anderson). They are drawn into the influence of the planet Mongo, controlled by Ming the Merciless (Max Van Sydow). After testing the earth with unnatural disasters, Ming deems that the earth is a threat to his rule and so he plans to destroy it, but not before dealing with Flash and taking Dale as his wife. With the help of Prince Barin (Timothy Dalton) and Prince Vultan (Brian Blessed) Flash must fight to unite the warring kingdoms of Mongo, rescue Dale and save our world.
