| Beskrivelse:
Hebe is an independent woman living in Cornwall. Her life has changed dramatically since she fled from her family as a young girl. Inflamed by their decision that she must terminate her illegitimate pregnancy, she decided to make a new life for herself.
Now she survives by working as a gourmet cook for wealthy old ladies and as an expensive mistress for wealthy men - her 'peacocks'. One summer however, when a young antiques dealer Jim, and his old bachelor assistant arrive in town. Hebe's secret past in under threat. Jim and Hebe have met before.
