A convicted criminal is on its way to a jail transfer on a commercial flight from Phoenix to JFK. Shortly after takeoff, the criminal, helped by two of his pals take control of flight TAA 285, forcing it to land at Dallas in very bad weather and demanding a 747 at his disposition for the rest of the hijack.
